Yesterday was the second day the weather was over 100 degrees and it's supposed to be another scorcher today. (Yep! Another day of 105 with tons of humidity.) It was even 92 degrees at Astoria - out on the coast. Thank God I work in an air conditioned office!!
Speaking of air conditioning. Tomorrow I get the compressor replaced on my poor little heat pump. Couple weeks ago, it was 92 degrees outside and 93 inside. UGHH!!!!!! When the HVAC tech came out to check it, he did something to help it run at least a little bit until we could replace it. On the good side, my tomatos, egg plant and peppers are LOVING all this heat. I actually got my first ripe tomato last night. I don't think I've ever had red tomatos this early before. (though how much of it has to do with me not usually getting my garden planted until 4th of July - I'm not sure.)
Have a Lovely Weekend.

Yesterday 7/29/09 Castle Rock had a temperature of 109 degrees!!!!
Luckily today it cooled down considerably.
Thank you very much but do not send your weather our way. We wilt at 78 degrees and 25% humidity. That is why we live in the State of Idaho on the high mountain desert Snake River Plain. The wind is always gently blowing and cooling us off. The days are warm or sorta hot (78-80) but the nights are cool into the 50's and low 60's. We open the doors and windows in the evening and pull up a blanket in the middle of the night!
We live in heaven! We also see the stars at night!!!
August has now come and the time for meteor showers will begin soon, so it is the best time to sleep outside and make lots of wishes on all the falling stars.
I have lots of wishes for you and your family. I hope I stay awake to make the wishes on the falling stars. If not I will make the wishes anyway before I fall asleep!
